Constructed with stone floors, beautiful adobe walls and wooden ceilings, Rabbit house has a wonderfully earthy, authentic vibe. Rabbit was originally built with just a few rooms and was added onto over a number of years, as were many older New Mexican houses. Lacking modern construction machinery to level the ground under an entire house, each additional room was built at ground level, with steps going up or down as needed.

The living room is three steps down from the entry and the kitchen, a couple of steps down from the bedrooms—two of which were created from a much older, smaller building that was here at least as early as the first decade of the 1900s.

Rabbit has a spacious, well furnished living room with game table and TV; a laundry with washer and dryer and large, fully-equipped kitchen with eating space for six. Rabbit has two king bedrooms, one twin bed in one of the king bedrooms, one queen bedroom and a sleeper-sofa in the living room. Two full baths. Sleeps 5-9

The kitchen opens into a spacious walled patio across the path from the sunken garden and the rabbit warren.

It is cooled by an evaporative cooler and is centrally heated in winter. Rabbit has a wood-burning fireplace.
